Festive Travel

This Christmas and New Year there will be the following changes to buses within London.

Please be aware that this information is subject to change and please check before you travel.

Tuesday 31 December - New Year's Eve

All routes will operate a Saturday service with the following exceptions:

  • Route 507 will operate a special service
  • Route 521 and Route X68 will operate a limited service

A Saturday service will operate on all 24-hour and Night bus routes with some enhancements to frequencies.

The following additional routes will operate throughout the night:

  • 45, 51, 56, 109, 115, 118, 161, 164, 174 (Harold Hill - Dagenham (New Road) only),
    185 (Lewisham - Vauxhall only), 248, 333, 335, 355, 358, 388, 407, 414, 415, 422 and 432

From around 1400 roads in Central London will be progressively closed. During the closure buses will run from key points around the outskirts of Central London. Buses will return to their normal routing as roads reopen from 0300.

After 1930 buses in Central London will operate from the following hub locations:

  • Elephant & Castle - for south-east, south-west and south London
  • Holborn - for east and north-east London
  • Oxford Circus - for east, west and north-west London
  • Tottenham Court Road - for north and north-east London
  • Green Park - for west and south-west London
  • Victoria - for south, south-west and north-west London

Wednesday 1 January 2020 - New Year's Day

All routes will operate a Sunday service

Some routes will be subject to diversion due to road closures in place until 1800 for the New Year's Day Parade.

A Sunday night service will operate on all 24-hour and Night bus routes

Thursday 2 January

Normal bus services resume
